I’m a married mother of 3 children who has resided in the canalside village of Albion, NY since moving here at the beginning of my freshman year in high school. I was on JV and varsity softball, a member of the Honor Society, and enjoyed spending time with my friends. After a year of college at Niagara University, my father became ill so I took a year off and then life happened. I opted to join the workforce, working in the banking industry for over 10 years. My first husband and I had a daughter, Ava, and later when I married my husband Morgan, I gained a stepdaughter, Adysyn, and we had our son Brody about a year later. When Brody was about 2, I decided to become a full-time mom after realizing he had some special needs. He was soon diagnosed with ASD – autism spectrum disorder. I am proud and delighted to say that he received early intervention and that he has done nothing but thrive ever since. Once he entered full-time kindergarten, I knew it was time to return to work, but what? Where? My creative side desperately needed to come out – I was already woodburning signs and dabbling with painting – but I also saw a need for more cosmetic services in our community. I discovered microblading and decided this was where I wanted to start.
I became a certified microblading technician in March 2018, receiving my training at Blink Beauty Bar in Buffalo, NY.
Marked.by Janna was born! I further honed my technique in March of 2019 at Revive in Rochester. Also in 2019, I became a waxing specialist after completing the program at Shear Ego in Rochester and I’ve recently added ear piercing to my menu. In addition to these cosmetic services, I have also grown my other business called Here’s Your Artwork. I conduct frequent “sip ‘n paint” parties for adults and/or children, in homes or, more often, at the newly-opened, gorgeous venue, The Lockstone.
In the fall of 2019, I proudly opened my own shop, Marked.by Janna, located at 4 East Bank Street in downtown Albion and I look forward to adding more services in the future.
